We all have PTSD over the years from bad results. But we need to step back and assess what we have to offer a portal QB. Yes we will need to pay for a proven QB like other programs so let's assume this washes out

But beyond that we can offer
  • likely a top 10-15 defense next year which translates into more possessions for the offense
  • MR track record of putting players into NFL
  • Great culture and support system
I think this can be a great opportunity for a QB who wants an opportunity where 8 wins is great but the ceiling could be a playoff berth next year.

I think we need as close to a sure thing 1-2 year rental QB while we stock the QB room with Purdy, Kaelin, 2025 addition plus possibly a 2nd portal kid this year

I think any potential portal candidate will only commit based on liking MR and his projected outcomes. It will not hurt that we will have a top 15 defense plus competitive NIL money

Time will tell who we get and how it turns out. I still harbor hope for Chubba but what is clear is we NEED an immediate impact guy to derisk this position

Pal, what do you call great culture? The only power 5 team not to be in a bowl the past 7 years? Support system? Coaches choking away 4 chances to become bowl eligible?

Rhule is selling his past results also, his successful track record. His player retention and “nurturing but not coddling” environment is selling itself.
There will be minor setbacks. Progress not perfection. I love the direction were goin and whose drivin the bus.
