There seem to be a lot of folks that think the secondary will improve. With the loss of Cassidy and Dennard, it's unclear to me why we would believe there wiould be significant improvement. Is Seisay believed THAT much better than Dennard?

I wanted to vote for "Fan Base", but it wasn't a choice. Besides, after consideration, I doubt it will be improved.

I voted Offensive Backfield, as I assume that includes QB -- I genuinely feel Taylor is poised to show 'RG3-esque' improvement....will he win the Heisman, probably not - but I do think he makes HUGE strides this year - what happens his Senior season? Time will tell.

I will try to explain why I think the secondary will be better. The coaching staff diligently searched for the young inexperienced player(s) that would step up and play at the level needed to compete in the B1G. They played a ton of young players and even shifted positions of some in search of finding the combination that worked. It was sometimes painful for me to watch the "process" but in the long run the secondary was a much better unit at the end of last year than at the beginning and IMHO it was not all due to the presence of Dennard ---- it had to do with experience under fire. So, while I do not think that any one individual will play at the level that Dennard played, I do expect the level of play of the whole "unit" to play at an entirely different level than they did last year.

If the highest level of play for a d-back is arbitrarily set at 5. Without naming names, I would assess the level of DB play at the end of last year as 1.5, 2, 2 & 4.5 or and average of 2.5. Anticipating the improvement that I (an infernal optimist) would project would be 2.5, 3, 3 & 4 an average of 3 plus. So while I do not expect another Dennard on the field, I expect the sum of all the parts to be greater.

Good explanation, I have to admit I have my doubts but I hope your analysis proves correct!
