Was there in the early nineties before Giuliani cleaned it up and it was still fun and I had a friend who was from there so I felt safe. Nowadays my friend says don't come here even the locals are looking to get the Hell out

was just in chicago last week. had to navigate feces on the sidewalk the entire week. went there several times in the 90s and early 2000s, was a blast. now, people just lose their humanity in big cities

I have been to Chicago many many times and always felt comfortable even downtown it always felt like a Big but still safe midwestern city just stayed out of the real bad neighborhoods but in the past 5 years the only place safe is way out in the suburbs. All big city's are scary A guy cannot just walk around downtown even in broad daylight and not worry about somebody trying to punch you out or flat out shoot you just because they can

I've gone to Manhattan the last couple years in March for work and have never had any issues. It just constantly smells like sewage and there is garbage everywhere. And like others have said it's expensive, but not any more than California.

Would You two take this pillow fight offline it's the second Thread your going to get locked but if you do meet up have someone film it please ;)

Sorry for the delay in handling this, had not been previously aware. Thread bans have been issued. Thread being cleaned up. I just deleted a few dozen posts.

Reminder: Personal back and forth arguments belong in PMs. If two or more posters get into an unrelated argumentative conversation that hijacks the thread, you will be treated how I used to handle my quarreling children and sent outside to figure it out, or like two drunk dudes at a nightclub who will be hauled out by the bouncers in order to restore the peace. We don't care who is at fault or who is right or who is wrong or who started it, the peace will be restored and the topic will be brought back to center, one way or another.

Now then..... :backtotopic:

I go several times a year—and in March for Big East Tourney. They collect all garbage nightly so there is garbage bags on the street but they get picked up—every night.

I have been on subways late at night and at 530 in the morning going from JFK in the Bronx to Manhattan. People everywhere.

I am not in the slums or spending time outside of Manhattan. I walk everywhere. I feel very safe there as do my mom and sister.
