We’re still going bowling!!!

It would be very expensive to fly for sure. I would go in AZ but that’s a cheap game for me. That game is 12/26 so many would have to travel Christmas Day. Not ideal for travelers but there are many NE fans living in AZ or nearby to drive.
6 hours from So. Cal.

To paraphrase Hemingway, let’s hope next year we are strong at the broken places.

I'm not sure if anyone else remembers the end of the January 1995 Orange Bowl (after the 1994 season, obviously). After so much talk about how then 22-year coach Dr. Tom couldn't win the big one, the Huskers finally prevailed with a dominant fourth quarter against the 'Canes. Announcer Tom Hammond concluded the broadcast by saying that, when he thinks of Osborne, he is reminded of the following lines from a Henry Wordsworth Longfellow poem:

"Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait."

We took the next step; we're going bowling. Next fall we continue the ascent.

Consider this .... could be no bowl invite  ..... thanks but no thanks.

Reason: Husker Curse is alive and kicking. No cure before January 1st.

That thought has occurred to me too. But NU is one of the teams out there that will put butts in seats.

0% chance of that happening. We will be one of the top non-playoff picks from the conference, likely ahead of Rutgers and Minnesota, even though they have more wins. 247 still projects us to the Music City, with Illinois going to the Citrus, Michigan going to Reliaquest, and Iowa going to First Responder (which is a lesser bowl and makes little sense to me.)

I think PHX is a favorite now with Iowa and Michigan winning. Versus Big 12–we could see how we do against our old conference. Many here think we should go back. If its Texas Tech, Holgerson makes that interesting.

247 still projects us to Music City, which makes little sense to me. They have Iowa going to a lesser bowl (First Responder), even though they have two more wins than we do. The winner of Nebraska-Iowa was supposed to be going to Reliaquest, but the Michigan win threw it off and now it looks like the Wolverines will be going there. Illinois will get the Citrus. They project Rutgers to the Rate Bowl and Minnesota to the Duke's Mayo Bowl.

Michigan is going to Nashville it's the frozen tundra of Yankee Stadium for the Husker faithful
I believe with the advent of the extra playoff game many other bowls will be rewarded more based on how large of following (how many fans will travel) then a teams record. Why provide a nice bowl to a team and their fans don't travel to go see? I think it’s all about the “Benjamins” than a team's record. Many bowls want to bring in lots of visitors spending lots of money for the local economy imo.

That's true, but I think there's a rule in place where a team can't be chosen over another conference team that has 2+ more wins. Otherwise, we'd get chosen for the Citrus based on our fan following alone.

Ditch Chickens ..... exactly the same score as last year bowl. Shutout. Deacon Hill=Jackson Stratton

This is the supposed pecking order:

Cheez-It Citrus Bowl
ReliaQuest Bowl
Duke's Mayo Bowl
TransPerfect Music City Bowl
Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl
Guaranteed Rate Bowl
Quick Lane Bowl

Based on that, I could see Illinois in Citrus, Michigan in ReliaQuest, Iowa in Duke's Mayo, and us in Music City.
