Another crappy loss to Iowa on a game ending field goal. It sucks, but I’m still proud of how our defense played. I m proud of Ty Robinson. Our offensive line showed huge improvements in the run game the last three weeks. Nebraska was the more physical team on both lines of scrimmage. Special teams and a couple dropped passes killed us. If we keep Holgorsen I think the future is bright. We get to go to a bowl game and after eighth long years, that alone is a huge achievement.

Playing good enough to win, but finding ways to lose = Nebraska.

That is why all UNL's away games, except Iowa, where the other team's homecoming game. Other teams count on UNL giving them the game.

Getting to a bowl is great for this team...but there is a chance they lose and go 6-7, and end up 1-6 for the last half of the year. Slight progress, but not much.

UNL has to hope their new OC can figure out how to score points and compliment the D when they play well, or we are going to be singing a similar song next year, with a similar schedule.

Not sure how or why but Nebraska football makes everything seem difficult....like qualifying for a bowl game!
 



As much as the Iowa game sucked . . . the bowl practices and the extra game experience will only help. Who knows--maybe the Huskers actually get a W? Stranger things have happened.

And the kids will get a trip with some schwag and get to have some fun. There's nothing negative about qualifying for a bowl game. Zero. It's been too dang long. I do think better days are ahead.

Good coaches make all the difference. Retaining Holgorsen or hiring someone equivalent is paramount. I agree it’s slight progress, but it is progress. I don’t know if next season will be better. I just see some reasons it could be. If it’s not then we all will have our answers on Rhule.

I wouldn’t call it sunshine pumping. More of a realization that I control nothing and I did see some positives. Rhule is on schedule as far as his record historically. Next season Nebraska should take a big step forward. If they don’t we will probably see a new coach. I think they will be good next season.
