We have to win two in the conference tournament to qualify for the WNIT, which means upsetting one of the top four seeds in round 2 to finish above .500. Let's hope Michigan State and Northwestern lose so that we can somehow get to the #6 seed...likely would have Rutgers as our upset hope. If we end up #7, we'd likely be facing Iowa for that upset hope. #8 or #9 and it's #1 Maryland.
It does look there is a path to get in with a sub-.500 record:
"A team that is offered an automatic berth by the WNIT shall be the team that is a.) the highest-finishing team in its conference's regular-season standings, and b.) is then not selected for the NCAA Tournament. It does not matter what the team's overall record is".
So, if everyone seeded higher than us in the B1G tourney makes the NCAA tournament, we'd be automatically in the WNIT...
