WBB Game #24, (L, 64-57), Sun, 2/4, vs (#10) Maryland (19-3) (8-1), @ PBA, 2:00 pm CST, BTN PLUS

Somehow I missed looking @ the
Rebounds;
NU-29
UM-49

:(:(

We got beat on rebounds pretty badly. These two dominated the boards;
Kaila Charles-16
Kristen Confroy-10

Look at that attendance: 6,185. Not Bad for a snowy winter's Day, on Super Bowl Sunday at that! :)

A good show for the Prospective Recruits that were there! :nod:

In my coaching career, I coached against both high schools where the two recruits play. If Emily Ryan has any of Clafin's legend in her, then she has the potential to be a good as Claflin is the home of Kansas legend Jackie Stiles, who played at Southwest Missouri State, now Missouri State, and then for a few years in the WNBA. She was a heck of an athlete who could win the 1A (smallest division in Kansas) state track & field championship all by herself scoring 40 points with gold medals in the 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m. Claflin was recently diagnosed with ocular melanoma.

Bishop Miege is a 4A (6A is the largest in Kansas) private catholic high school near Kansas City.

Thanks for posting the information All 'N' :thumbsup: It's good seeing this forum starting to get some more activity :Mfclap: (But not as good as seeing the Husker Ladies get into the upper tier of WBB! :Lol:)

Not being in the heartland, I'm sure you have a lot more insight than I. As I understand it both young ladies are garnering a lot of attention,even though both are still HS underclassmen. I'm glad to see Coach Amy Williams building such relationships in the radius. :pirate:

Here is an article I saw posted elsewhere with some more information on the history of 'Claflin, KS that you mentioned.

Claflin is a known sports town with multiple state titles in football, basketball, tennis, individual titles in track and field, you name it. They are always in the mix when it comes to 8-man football and 1A/2A athletics over the years. It's also the home of the legendary Jackie Stiles, who is perhaps the greatest female athlete in the history of Kansas high school sports, that went on to start at Missouri State (then SW Missouri State) and the WNBA.

Saddened to learn of Ms Stiles diagnosis! :Frown:
