USC Practice Week: 14 November Coach Rhule

I would think the biggest thing to get up-to-speed is Holgerson learning the current terminology being used on the offensive side of the ball
DH can handle it. The players might have an adjustment period to how self-confident he is, however. Ultimately, they will take on his confidence, which will be a good thing.

This is a big time move by HCMR! So many times, our past coaches failed in this type of situation, but HCMR absolutely stepped up here! You could hear in his voice/words that he took personal accountability for the Offense (and Satt) being in the situation they're in. HCMR stated that HE didn't (and couldn't) get it done, so he needed to get someone in that could "...fix it."

It's going to be really interesting to see how these next three games play out. GBR!!

For about 3 more games, anyway . . .

EDIT LOL--beat.

Can't imagine Satt's back in any capacity next year. If he is . . . that salary's getting an extreme haircut.
Glenn Thomas is “dead man walking” as well. DH will be working directly with the QBs starting last week.

If DH is the OC, a change I heartily agree with, then is he still an "analyst", one would think not.
Thus:
1. We have too many "coaches", someone needs to be let go, demoted to analyst.
2. How/Why are we paying 1.3 million dollars for a TE coach; inquiring minds want to know?
3.Why are we hearing about this injury to Dylan now, when it happened a week ago? I say this in regards to Dylan's support for Saterfield as in is their some discord with Dylan and DH being named as OC?

GBR

USC will have a huge challenge preparing for us. You can't rely on this season's Nebraska film, and you also can't just look at Holgorsen's previous offenses because there's a limit as to what Holgorsen can change in such a limited amount of time. I am very much looking forward to our first couple of drives on Saturday.

1. The NCAA changed the rules. There is no limit to the number of “on field” coaches any more.
2. Not sure about what the payment particulars are for Satterfield, but he does have a contract. It could be that as a colleague and friend Rhule is honoring the payment provisions of his contract with plans and an agreement to let him go at the end of the season. Even assistant coaches have buyouts. Nebraska would probably have to pay him through the rest of this season regardless.
3. You might be making something out of nothing here. It’s admirable that Dylan voiced support for MS, but I think that the realization that he is trading up for an elite college QB coach and play caller will eventually set in.

We are paying Satt his salary because that's what his contract provides for.

Rhule talked about Dylan's injury last week. In fact, he said that Raiola likely would not have been able to go if we had had a game on November 9 but that he was optimistic that Raiola would be able to play against USC.

1 Not a concern
2 something to address after the season
3 We did hear about it, beyond that why give USC any more information then they need.

In fact why did Rhule just tell USC we have a new play caller, he really could have sidestepped any questions as to how much involvement DH would have on the USC game. But as always he's being as transparent with everyone as he can be.

This 100%... and this (or even just the prospect of this) actually may have set in BEFORE today's announcement by HCMR. I'm very confident that DR and his family approve of and welcome this move by HCMR.
