UCLA Week Practice Thread: 31 October Coach Rhule

Garbers completed a lot of throws and a high percentage of throws against Rutgers last week. Anyone watch the game and have a take on it? I haven’t seen UCLA play but it sounds like they have had a hard time protecting Garbers.
2.86 a game sacks given up and 110th ranked

Ouch. Feels like a revisit to CU game for the Blackshirts. Thanks.
Keeping in mind they've played a tough schedule and they are playing better ball.
Their lack of a run game contributes a lot to this imo.
Key here, likely bigger than normal is big plays. Their top WRs are averaging ten yds a catch or more, even their RB is almost ten a catch.

So a little of that “Husker” timing with the schedule. All good if the same defense shows up as last week. Sounds like they have the usual bunch of athletes at skill positions. It’s in the water in CA. Random note: I don’t like it when a coach plays his old school—they’re often a little tight or nervous or something at the start.

I think TWs attitude in his coaching career is like making UCLA proud by just how good he is.
Sort of like getting older and fads no longer mean anything, comfort and quality mean everything

With 4 games left, what players who are expecting to redshirt will take the field this week? Coleman is likely to see action, and if he does, I certainly hope he makes a big splash.

What other red shirts will see the field?

If Coleman plays and plays better than Banks and Neyor (I don’t think this will happen) I’d feel like he shouldn’t have redshirted.

If we come out and get a big lead (I don’t think this will happen either) we should have a Daniel Kaelin sighting.

I don’t know how many games Riley Van Poppel has left. If he has 3 left we might see him vs. UCLA. If he only has 1 or 2 he’s probably being saved for Iowa and/or Wisconsin.

How many games has Von Poppel played so far?

Just beat me to it.

I think DK gets a series soon. Better to get his feet wet casually now than take his first snap on 3rd and 14 in the fourth quarter of a tied game.
