UCLA Week Practice Thread: 31 October Coach Rhule

Are you serious? Who has the biggest single backer in all of football?
And who has grads that give in huge numbers?
The only reason we dont see USCs numbers is because they're private.
Phil Knight is going to die soon and his relatives don’t support UO the way he does.
Oregon pre-Knight wasn’t much and although unlikely to slip into oblivion they’re just going to be just another P4 university that does OK every now and again.

Both being on the west coast won’t help them.
USC being private won’t help them against the public school snobs who run the B1G.
USC relatively speaking is a smaller school when compared to the B1G elite.

Penn State feels like an outsider in the B1G and they’ve been in the conference a 1/3 of a century (34 years).

Time for the hicks to go big city thenn

Nobody in the B1G league office gives a hoot about Nebraska.

I'd bet that less than ten people working at the B1G league office even know that Nebraska is in the B1G.

I'd bet that less than five people working at the B1G league office can even spell Nebraska.

Now Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State they have a huge incentive to get one or more of those guys into the playoffs.

Exactly my point a few posts back in this thread. There is a lot of money at stake. They can't allow an unranked team to knock off a possible/probable CFP contender.

If the tables were turned, and for example if it were Nebraska sitting at #4 or #2 playing an unranked State Penn, I truly believe you would see a drastic improvement in how we are treated by the B1G officiating.

While I agree on the probable outcome, I'm 100% against it. Having our refs and its supporting entities playing with two sets of rules is foolishness.

A 2-loss tOSU with losses to Oregon and Nebraska; with wins over Indiana, Michigan, & PSU is a similar resume than a 2-loss Alabama with losses to Vandy & UT with wins over UGA, Ole Miss and Wisconsin.

You could argue Alabama has the better win and worst loss.
The résumés would be comparable to me and you, but perhaps we don’t suffer from the same ESPN/SWC bias that has been pervasive in playoff decision-making and in polls for a long time.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Lots and lots of money at stake.

Must keep as many in the hunt as possible.
And behind it all is something they'll never try because behind it all there is bias.
If they let it happen the enthusiasm would still be there. Most real fan bases will still turn out, still care and excitement will still be high.

Saterfield just stated that he did not know how Raiola runs. How could you get to this part of the season and never work on QB scrambles?!!
