This makes me extremely happy. I've been saying that this hire would divide the fan base even further. And can we finally stop quoting the guys that have said they have sources that Alberts and Frost are who we are going after? Don't even have an AD yet and we have people proclaiming they know what's going to happen with our HC.
I think Trev does rub some people the wrong way.

There are people that still love Nebraska football but were connected to UNO football/wrestling and if we moved Alberts down there, things would get even more divided. This would have been an extremely detrimental move in my opinion to an already fractured fan base. I personally wouldn't have minded it, but I don't think you can make it if you are Green/Bounds.
my dad talked to Trev at church on Sunday and he didn't say anything about being a candidate for the position....so I'm not surprised. 
From the get go I said the same thing, this would not have united anybody. I would not have cared but I truly believed that Trev has things to finish at UNO first.
Yea he has a couple more successful sports team he needs to get rid of...

Colin was an Army officer, can't in good conscience support that and Barry is a traitor so No. Joe, maybe.

Not what we are looking for, but if that's what we were looking for one that hasn't already pissed off Nebraska regents, boosters, and fans before taking the AD job in Lincoln would be where I'd start and go from there.

Since when has our AD search been about "unity"? Unity is a latest word to be perverted by the social justice warriors. It came about after "diversity" ran it's course.

Excellent attempt at trolling... but the actual narrative is to not create a further divide with someone that has already pissed off some Nebraska fans, not creating unity. Now, back on topic.

I am disappointed that TA will not be a candidate for the Nebraska job ... I do not necessarily think the football coach has to be a "Nebraska" guy but having an AD who understands Nebraska would be a bonus. I think he would've done a great job.
Typically when candidates "withdraw" from consideration it means they've been told or have figured out that they're not getting the job.
I also believe that you do not make a move to fire someone at this level unless you have a plan in place to replace him/her. That is what got FADSP in trouble. Hopefully this is a sign that they have someone targeted and that his/her announcement will be forthcoming!
