Wonder how this came down? Did the Huskers go for Pankratz, the back-up and then Bleekrode decided to test the waters? Thinking that pankratz may change his mind.
I think Weinrich may change his mind...he had too many other offers available, and with the portal being what it is he can always move again. They aren't going to have 2 kickers on scholly are they?

I was not at all impressed with Weinrich's little bits of tape that I've seen...

I still think folks are writing off Contreraz... but he may transfer out after Bleekrode has been given a scholarship. I saw Bleekrode kick a few times in HS. He will be a very good add... but again the little I have seen of Contreraz makes me think he is also a legit D 1 kicker that had 1 very bad misshit. He hits a very nice ball that gets good immediate lift.

I think this might be a bit overcorrection by a staff that does not have a competent kicking evaluator on the staff.
Can you actually over correct from what we saw last year?

I was more referring to the fact that we went and got 2 transfers from Furman and also signed a "5 star" (though 5 star kickers don't really mean anything).

I just want to make sure the staff is actually having an evaluation of these players in games (not just chopped up footage from the kicking services)... I am happy with the Bleekrode signing especially if he can punt as well. I have seen him kick in person (albeit in high school) and he looks to be B1G/FBS level.

He may well be worth a scholarship... especially if he can cover 2 spots like Alex did for us.

Kicking & Punting were abysmal at times this season, glad to see they're being addressed.

welcome TB!

Just speculation on my part, but I think Cerni is unlikely to return in 2022. Otherwise we would have two punters on scholarship.

As much success as Australian punters have had in FBS football, we didn't exactly hit the jackpot with Cerni.

We know it was all a specialist issue
never said or insinuated that, simply welcoming a new commit ... unlike so many of the snipers though, simply acknowledging that the struggles go beyond a dedicated ST coach & increased competition brings out the best in everyone.

Little sensitive? I posted as satire.

emoji's help - never hurts to over communicate ... tense times around these parts, expressing optimism or minute excitement toward the future can be dangerous around here ;)
That's true. Always hopeful but reality doesn't always coincide with hope. I admit I don't handle it well at times
