Good info and great to see Whipple at #3. A little concerned as a fan that we have done this before with someone having just one year of success. And please, not everything requires an exclamation point.

Definitely encouraging to see Whipple at #3. Stats aren’t everything and I’m still a little uncertain about the hire, but on paper it’s a huge win. Now if we can translate into actual wins…

I’d go by this…2021- #5 good!!!

40’s, 70’s and 100’s not so good???

Whipple lead offense scoring rank:
2021 pitt - #5
2020 pitt - #78
2019 pitt - #106

2018 UM - #41
2017 UM - #48
2016 UM - #108
2015 UM - #104
2014 UM - #70
what can you tell us about pitts passing and overall offense in years where they don't have an NFL draft pick behind center? I'm guessing it craters....

ill just tell ya. this year pittsburgh with pickett at the helm won the ACC with the #5 best scoring offense in the country. bravo!! last year (2020) with an less experienced QB they ranked 78. in 2019 they were 106. here are whips led offenses scoring rank going back to his days as HC at mass.

Ask yourself how good was AM?

He had more than one year of success. 2019 and 2020 Pitt averaged 380 yards per game offensively, which I consider to be good. He had one stellar year with 487 this season, but his offenses at Pitt still consistently yielded yards

They struggled to score however in those prior seasons, however, so we will have to see if we have the same issues we've had. If our OL play improves greatly, we should not struggle in that department

The 380 yards per game would be a significant drop off from what Nebraska produced this season.

In fact, Pitt's offense ranked below Nebraska's in both 2019 and 2020.

380 YPG is a very average offense these days.
