Top 100 portal players

Get me a list of top 100 players who got big money and went to middling programs. I am curious to see this list. Since money is the ONLY thing that matters anymore.

You won’t find that list, but you will find those players went to the top schools because they could afford to pay that top money. Give me a list of middling schools that have the money that can compete with the top schools.

It is hilarious that people still deny that money is a big factor. How do you think NIL came about? The lure of making big money.

You did notice that Nebraska had some top 100 but they all left for better money

Players still want to win and will go to teams that give them the best chance. It's not JUST about money, no matter how many people want to make that our excuse, it is still about winning, prepping players for the next level and giving them a shot at a championship.

If I'm a player and Nebraska offers me $500K and tOSU, Oregon, Indiana offer me $400K it's a no brainer. I wouldn't be going to Nebraska. All I'd have to do is look at the number of players those 3 schools have put into the NFL in the last 5 yrs and how many times they've made the playoffs vs Nebraska.

We can't use NIL as our only excuse for being 7-5 or 6-6 or 5-7 etc etc.

AI, grain of salt..

College football players increasingly consider NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) money an important factor when deciding which school to attend. The availability of NIL opportunities has fundamentally changed the recruitment landscape, with athletes often weighing potential NIL earnings alongside traditional factors like coaching, facilities, and playing time www.cbsnews.com .

Some players explicitly say "Show me the NIL," indicating that the potential for endorsement deals and other income streams can be a decisive element in their college choice www.cbsnews.com . However, the importance of NIL money can vary depending on the competitiveness of the offers. Among schools offering similar NIL opportunities, players might prioritize other factors, but if one school offers significantly more NIL potential, it can heavily influence the decision www.reddit.com .

This shift reflects the broader impact of NIL deals, which have created a new financial ecosystem around college sports, benefiting athletes but also affecting schools, boosters, and donorsmilesmediation.com . The rise of NIL collectives and independent groups that help facilitate these deals further underscores how NIL money has become a key consideration for top recruitsjournals.law.harvard.edu .

In summary, for many college football players today, NIL money is not just a bonus but a core part of the decision-making process on where to play, especially when the financial opportunities differ markedly between schools www.cbsnews.comwww.reddit.com .

I guess I wasn't following the Dylan saga close enough. Did Oregon really provide Dylan more money than he was making at Nebraska to presumably play the backup role next season?

I have not heard what he was paid.

Did a search.. AI said he was going to make 3 mill. He was making that here but his evaluation had dropped to 1.8 after his injury.

Dylan is a little bit of a different animal. I think the pull from his relative might’ve been how we got him. Well, obviously that’s how we got him.

You could have just stopped there, then.

This. Top players are chasing money, it's true. But they also want to play for contenders. Nebraska just isn't there yet. Don't know if everyone on here realizes that. Some think that 'stacks of cash' are the only factor. Huskers need to put a good season together, maybe score an upset along the way. Then stack another good season after that. Kids will begin to notice. Winning will help out an awful lot of things.

We are seeing this in Men's Basketball as Fred has had a 5 star and a International 4 star on campus this week as HS recruits and I am sure after the season there will be interest in some higher ranked players in the portal also.
You have to win some games to get some Big Guys interest and Fred's Pro background and Contacts don't hurt either

This is a money game, that is what matters. If NU can’t buy players, we are in big trouble.
Do you realize what that sounds like.... "buy players"? That is certainly accurate, but regrettable. This is why my interest has shifted toward division 1 athletics.
