There is also Maggie Malone, who is from small town Geneva, Nebraska, which is where my wife is from.
She went to UNL for a couple years, and then transferred to Texas A8M for the last two after her family moved.
She won the outdoor national championship in 2016.
She is being coached in the Olympics by a former UNL coach, the one who started her in the javelin. (He wears his Husker gear at the Olympics.)

The results are about what could have been expected -- ie., some who were expected to win did -- Chinese in table tennis, American women in Water polos, American women in b-ball, the Germans in equestrian events, Japanese in baseball (note the rules for who could participate), that Norwegian guy in the 400 meter hurdles, Katy Ledecky in the 800 and 1500 swims, Dressel in the swimming sprints, russian team in female synchronized swimming, etc. Others who were expected to did not -- American men in running races, Simone Briles having to pause her performances, American women soccer team, some Eastern European and mid east men and women wrestlers, etc.

Some just shocked everyone -- the American 800 meter woman in the ease with which she won, Bob Fink in the 800 and 1500 swims, the guy who won the 100 meter dash, the American woman who finished third in the marathon, the Indian wrestler.

In other words, a typical Olympics.

I could not help but feel sorry for Japan, however, in that they were not able to showcase their country of which they are so proud to the entire world. Countries don't get many chances to host the Olympics. It's too bad they didn't get the chance to be the host they could be to the people of the world.

Singapore came out on top, with $1 million in prize money for the gold medalists, with a silver and a bronze medal returning $500,000 and $250,000 respectively."
