agreed, i would like to see the bowl game but i would be comfortable with him coming back and putting the guys he wants in place.I would think that if Holgorsen comes back, he may want his own guys on the staff. Probably a negotiating point.

The drop by Neyor, was huge. If he catches that, it’s first down inside the 20 I bet. He had daylight to run. He catches that, NU likely wins the game. That too, both sides caused us to lose. None bigger than a muffed pint and a drop by Neyor that would’ve been 20+ YAC
We pay enough that we should not settle for buddy hires. Bring in known great coaches. If they leave replace them with known great coaches. Enough of this developing coaches. Big 10 is not for that.I’ve said many times and reiterate, NU should not be a program where a coach earns while he learns!
This is the big leagues and thus big business. Hire proven coaches that have demonstrated consistent success at their craft. We should be a program where these positions reflect compensation commensurate with experience/success.
Let the “high potentials” cut their teeth or work on building their Coaching Vitae somewhere else.
He should bring whoever he wants because there is no one on the staff or even the team currently that is a must have. DH was the only person I saw on the sideline with any emotion at all.I would think that if Holgorsen comes back, he may want his own guys on the staff. Probably a negotiating point.
Another way of saying, "rebuild". NU has been in a state of rebuild for over 10 years now. Even SMU has come back from the death penalty. The coaching and style is so much different since the Dr Tom days. Kids want to play now and will leave if they sit for a year. It's the nature of the game. Move to a smaller conference. He should bring whoever he wants because there is no one on the staff or even the team currently that is a must have. DH was the only person I saw on the sideline with any emotion at all.
“Stop telling everyone” buddy all I said to YOU, not ANYONE else. If thats not what you want to run, then fine. Me thinking you initially meant triple option isn’t rocket science when you said you’d take an OC that’s a guy that literally ran the triple option for over 30 yearsnever said anything about running the triple option. only wanted a mid 50s TO to call the plays. dont care what the scheme is.....
you probably will be buried with a note that says "minidisk wants to run the triple option".
stop telling everyone i said something i didnt......
Yeah still scratching my head over the McGuire hire. I think he’d be good in a recruiting role, but not a position coachI’ve said many times and reiterate, NU should not be a program where a coach earns while he learns!

The fans seem to be throwing in the towel so maybe AD Dannon should just tear down the South endzone and replace it with a Mural of past greatness and portraits of Devaney, Osborne and BO6,7,8 wins is our ceiling for the foreseeable future. A step up from our decade of 5-7. Not sure we need to renovate a stadium for that though.
You need to come to grips with this being NU football for the rest of time. Lincoln is not the dream job it might have once been. It is now a revolving door of hyped coaches that fail miserably. Move to the MAC or some other small conference and learn the game again. It's funny how one of the largest structures in Lincoln is the football stadium and it can't even produce a winning team anymore.
We had several plays (including two first downs) after that drop. Yeah, it would have been nice, but we had other opportunities. The drop by Neyor, was huge. If he catches that, it’s first down inside the 20 I bet. He had daylight to run. He catches that, NU likely wins the game.
or another space age locker room and movie theater for the team to relax inActually 19D Cav, that reeks too much of Bolshevism. You know, portraits of Brezhnev et al. How about just reverting to an east-west practice field that occupied the space where South Stadium currently stands.
