Yeah it was too bad he couldn't get another year. After the 2024 season it was sure nice to see a flawless 2025, and show how important that is. Glad we were able to get what looks like an excellent replacement.

Special teams? remember 2 seasons ago when the huskers couldn't snap the ball back to the kicker and the kickers were confused about which side of the upright that ball was supposed to be on? Enter Maher as a consultant 2/3 of the way through the season. Hohl became a monster missing only one the rest of the way? Remember his leg is what kept the huskers in position against OSU? Buschini's punt average increased....This was pre-ek..Not sure of maher's aspirations, but if he'd like to be full time, in a couple of years this guy would be a hot ST coordinator commodity.
the portal? The success of the portal is who did they really lose? DR? Keona Davis? maybe him. But they retained the young dudes whose bodies will be a year older and another 15 to 20 pounds of good weight.
Colandrea won't be under center...jk...I'd prefer him and DK than minchey.
Overall happy with the portal class. Looking forward to seeing what we do with it.

Rankings are highly dependent on total bodies recruited the average overall recruits was 42 players. We took 27. We were closer to 10th in star ranking which is still a bit underwhelming.
Holy crap. Bo Pelini couldn’t pull a Bo Pelini with the 10th best roster in the conference.

He is ranked the fifth best IOL. Now he may be ranked 108th overall and since there's 22 guys per team, he would be second team, or within the top 44 if you chose the best per position for a full team.
Can you tell me how many Top 100 portal players were signed by Indiana Last year. I will give you a clue 0. One of the things Cignetti has said over and over is He adds players based solely on his and his staffs evaluation of one thing,His teams needs and how he feels each player fits His system and will fill those needs.Nothing else. It worked Recruiting ratings make great conversation pieces for sites like this but they have been shown over and over again to be undependable and inaccurate measurements of a players skills.
