Thompson's thumb injury!

I'll play odd man out on which QB will start the entire season assumes no injury. I believe it's no contest and Casey Thompson will be the starter every game. Don't believe Purdy has the experience to beat out CT this season. At least it's great we finally have a real QB competition. Going to be a lot of fun watching how it plays out.

I agree. Purdy can play the entire 4th quarter to get game reps. That means Nebraska is up big and gets a lot of players meaningful game reps. I like it.

I remember reading something when Thompson announced his transfer that suggested he would only stay for one season. I can’t remember where this idea came from or if it was credible.

I haven’t seen anything addressing this either way since then. I had the impression Purdy was more likely to choose Nebraska because he would only have to wait one year. But is that true, or will they both be here for the next 2 seasons?

Do not recall Thompson saying that but it could easily happen as he is 23 and if has NFL aspirations that would make sense

I think Thompson is pretty good, and hes gonna get better. but if Purdy can elevate his game and pass him, great. Nebr benefits, and thats all i care. I just hope it happens do to competition with both being healthy

I knew someone was going to go here. Other than Martinez whi os the last player yo reme.ber with broken jaw. If it is rare for it to happen it is rarer to reinjure. Just saying.

Fracture, not full break, he wasnt wired my guess,meaning like you're saying, likely the same intense kind of hit needed to be repeated.

I can think of hockey and boxing where you'd see this, and likely before helmets in hockey

Keen Green only wanted to stay one yr too…. Cause he had big dreams and ambitions, as he should.
I certainly hope Casey has that big of a season, that means the team had a huge season, and that Purdy prob gets 20+ snaps per game

And that's a really good thing imo!!! Nice to have some confidence in #2 that could get the job done.

Exactly!! All I know that, in recent history, we had 2 different #2's lose to Troy and Northern Illinois.
