This team just isn’t good. Our point guard isn’t a good distributor and has no court vision. Mayan is flat out bad and makes dumb decisions like taunting the Ohio St bench. For as good as they told us these kids could shoot, I haven’t seen it. Walker is a good player but undersized and we have no one good behind him. What a crappy basketball season. I’m ready for a new coach.

I agree, it's not a good team. It always frustrates me when a coach rolls a bunch of players with skill and talent out there and expects them to play together. I don't get why Hoiberg isn't getting through to them -- he was a consummate team player in his day.

I kind of like Mayen the person, but his game doesn't help anyone else. If it were me, I would start Wilcher in his place. It's not super fair to CJ, but he chose to transfer to this team. Reminds me of Ryan Anderson -- 6'4" shooting guard playing power forward.

There's some talent here, if they can get them to stay for next year. I would like to see a team with Blaise Keita at C, Walker at 4, 2 McGowans and a true PG starting. Bryce needs to get bigger and way, way tougher, but he's an amazing talent.

I agree there is some talent. I like the two young big guys. I see flashes from McGowans but he’s not quite ready as a freshman. Mayen frustrates me a lot. I can’t remember which game he got the technical in but it was uncalled for. Then flexing at Ohio St but making dumb plays down the stretch. It’s kind of mind boggling that they are this bad.

No he’s not that good so you’re right. He was supposed to be a three point specialist but no one has panned out. It’s frustrating for me as a basketball fan. Stop being a Karen :Catfight:
 




I cringe every time Mayan starts dribbling the ball. Catch and shoot, catch and shoot Lat. it’s really the only thing you can do and he hasn’t been very good at that.
Also plays about as “small” as any 6’9” guy I have ever seen.

At this point I would rather just watch 5 guys that will hustle their ass off and play fundamental basketball even if their not the most talented.

Give me a Bobby Knight chew some ass, do it the right way or sit your ass down on the bench, any day.

Again, Fred has been here for 2 1/2 years. He overhauled the roster and dealt with a pandemic during this fairly short period of time.

I'm not saying Hoiberg is the answer, but at least let this season play out. If you've watched with any consistency, you know they've played much better in 3 of the past 4 games.

Nebraska basketball is the equivalent of Kansas football -- except that Kansas actually has had a handful of football seasons better than what Nebraska's basketball program has produced. We are still the ONLY team from a major conference that has yet to win an NCAA Tournament game. The bar is much lower for basketball than our football team.

I'm sorry, I just get a bit worked up when Frost has gotten so many passes for significantly longer, yet there are fans wanting Fred gone ASAP. I'm not here to claim he's doing a good job. But I will say he deserves a bit more patience.
