It is a challenge at this point because these kids went to a better baseball program in Wichita St than Nebraska represents. This was evidenced this week in a 13-2 loss to the Shockers in a game that may not have been that close. Erstad has to sell these kids on staying at home and being part of a rebuilding process as opposed to going to an established winner, especially when these kids see their potential draft status could be at risk. He will have to convince them that he went to Nebraska and he played in the majors...even though the program isn't what it was when he played here.
