HIGH SCHOOLER, WORLD TRAVELER, RECORD SETTER: JORDAN STOLZ IS LIVING HIS SPEEDSKATING DREAM

"He started the season in November by winning the men’s 1,500-meter event in track-record time at the world cup opener in Stavanger, Norway. At 18 years old, he became the youngest man to win an individual world cup speedskating race.

He ended the world cup season Feb. 17-19 in Poland with another win and track record in the 1,500, while also reaching the podium in the 500 and 1,000. That came a week after he won junior world titles in the 500, 1,000 and 1,500 races, as well as in the men’s team sprint with Herman and Tobon. Stolz also took home bronze in the 5,000 and mass start.

Along the way this season, Stolz has also stacked up three U.S. titles, nine total world cup medals and a junior world record."

"Amid a breakout season in which she’d already won five world cup medals, Goetz claimed her first world cup individual win on Feb. 12, holding off seven-time Olympic medalist Miho Takagi of Japan in the 1,000-meter event in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland.

Then, she closed out the world cup schedule the following weekend, again in Poland, with two more medals — a silver in the 1,000 and a gold in the women’s team sprint. She ended the season ranked among the top five in both the 1,000 and 500, as well as ninth in the 1,500."

"Three-time World Champion Jordan Stolz added another slice to his record-setting season at the US Speedskating Long Track AmCup Final over the weekend in Kearns, Utah.

One week after becoming the first man to win three World Titles in the same year, Stolz set a Junior World Record with his victory in the Men’s 1500m Sunday at the Utah Olympic Oval. Stolz won in 1 minute, 42.26 seconds, defeating 2022 Olympic teammate Emery Lehman by more than a second.

The win completed a season in which the 18-year-old Stolz also won four Junior World Titles, three U.S. Championships and medals at three distances at the World Cup Final."
