His agent SHOULD be shopping him to check his market value. Doesn't mean he's actually thinking of leaving.
I'll bet the understanding between he and the program is they'll negotiate on his market value and then give him that. So each side researches it. If it goes up with time he should get more at least at whatever pace other QBs update their deals
All these players have to compartmentalize their financial deals separately from their desire to be here and "loyalty" to the program. That's just business.
Look at it another way. If he got seriously injured or passed by by a new recruit, would Nebraska play him anyway out of loyalty? Nope. So he absolutely deserves his market value each step along the way, just like any player. Maybe both sides would be willing to leave 10 -20% on the table for goodwill and relationship reasons, but not a lot more than that.
Coaches have renegotiated their deals with success for a long time already. Now players do too. It's not fair to expect some players not to if others are.

Nebraska needs to create a Special Forces type unit that intercepts Calls / Texts / DM's to the players from other teams. This Squad of Old Tractor drivers need to Hunt down the coaches or NIL personal and Take them OUT! Once a few are eliminated & the word gets around, the occurrence of Tampering will drop dramatically. #GBR

All of this reminds me of a story my Dad told me of his freshman year (around 1960) at Univ. of Wisc. (Madison). Don't be too harsh, he's from Wisconsin, but has been a dyed in the wool Husker fan since '84.
He had a smartass roomate that would approach pretty girls on campus and ask if they would sleep with him for $1M. When they wouldn't immediately respond, he changed the offer to a $1.
Predictably the girl would get mad (as a father of a daughter, I'd want to kick his ass).
He then would say that we were just haggling over the price.
Doesn't really apply to Raiola here, but that is a good joke. An old one too, often attributed to Winston Churchill or Grouch Marx. Apparently it was first mentioned in print in the 1930s. I wouldnt be surprised if your Dad's roommate did his ass kicked over it. If one of my daughter's told me someone said it to them I'd go looking for them for sure.

Not saying it applies to Raiola - just the sausage-making process with these agents is a bit sleazy. Like the joke.
IMO, Our team needs to improve greatly in this next season In order for Raiola to stay at NU. If we have another 6-6 or 6-7 season teams are going to try to get him to transfer to them with the promise of NIL $ and a better team and he will probably consider transferring more seriously.

It really used to be my thing, now, MEH. I'll still watch, I'm not fanatic about it anymore, I just don't care that much anymore.
If we go 6 - 6, it's not his fault, it's the coaching he's not getting, that's the secret HC's don't want you to know. LMAO
6-6 would be a disappointment, for sure. Who would replace him?
