We were young last year. Seems we've filled out a little, otherwise its tough to put leaner yet heavier together.
Yeah, I wish at this point in Rhule's tenure he'd stop making statements like this. He's done better this season but this one was not necessary.
They are going to be better this season.....I think anyway. But let all this kind of stuff play out on the field.
What a bunch of whiners. We used to love hearing about measurables. Benching was a big deal, as were squats and deadlifts. We’d see those who were notable in their physical growth highlighted, and when they stopped sharing, most fans were all butt hurt, suggesting coaches were hiding disappointing performances.
This all sounds like another episode of, ‘Guys who need to complain or their lives are incomplete’. Whiners gonna whine.

Every coach every year finds ways to say their team looks great. Players strive to live up to those expectations. It's one of many parts of elite coaching that Rhule is good at it. Elite fans do not automatically assume that looking "all bus" will lead to a poor season just because sometimes it has for some teams in the past. It's fair to say that the more all-bus a team looks, the better they are likely to look on the field. I'm hoping the boys in red look both all-bus and all-field this fall. GBR!

I also believe not saying something may have a counter productive negative affect as well.
I get your point and I agree he’s taken a quieter and measured approach.

I suppose it’s an improvement on the previous coach saying the offensive lineman were puking during practice.
Excellent in all areas
This imo accomplished a lot. The team spent the summer on its own, this was an official welcoming back by MR, and MR does have a tendency to use public comments for leverage.
So my take is what MR said, there's been very good results, and it's comparative and goal oriented and MR is pleased.
And since he did say it has to translate on the field....in college, there's always room for improvement
