Stadium renovation

Thanks for the input. I like the ability to quickly put it down and take it up, but more questiions.

Is it a surface people can safely walk on?

How durable is it to foot traffic?

Will it actually protect the grass field underneath?

I really like the idea of having a grass field again. And from what I have read on this website, it sounds like recruits like the idea also. Anything to help the team win while keeping the books in the black. :)
After games in late May, Washington Nationals Park will host Springsteen on May 27, and cover the field in a couple of days with thick, interlocking plastic. When the Nats return a week later, the grass will look pristine. They have done this for years, letting tens of thousands on the field for in season concerts. So yes, it can be done.

Thank you for educating me. Learning something new always makes the day better. :)

Looking forward to it.
Much needed improvement.

A new stadium is pretty much out of the equation. Cost, location.

Three years ago or so, some guy pictured proposed new south. Similar. I like tradition existing SE & SW pillars
  • SE pillar -- "In commemoration of the men of Nebraska who served and fell in the nations wars"
  • SW -- "Not the victory but the action; not the goal but the game; in the deed the glory"
Though proposed future renovations will likely reduce capacity.

Not any higher then the east upper deck.
That is really nice. Great view. Lots of room.
GREAT SEATS ;)

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum with tarps in upper deck seats .... too high.
Actually similar to our Memorial minus north stand

Next future renovation ..... "tear down this upper deck" (aka Ronald Reagan speech)

I really don't see why you care if you aren't going to be sitting up there as well. This isn't any higher than any NFL stadium. These screenshots you keep posting look ridiculous. Glad they aren't going that route.
Don't care about NFL crap. I like new renovation south end zones. No need stratosphere deck ;). Plus save hi-powered binoculars !!!

I'll just ask again, if you aren't sitting up there then why do you care? Plenty of people are willing to sit up there and like the view. I've sat in the new upper deck in east stadium and personally like being able to see the play develop. Those additions for OU and Mizzou look great as well, but for Mizzou, that's all new seating, for OU, they weren't trying to replace 30k fans that were already there. NU is in a situation that if they don't do the upper decks they are going to drop 20k fans there instead of 10k.

The reality is, if you want 80k fans in Memorial Stadium, and some semblance of comfort and modernity, you have to go up.
