Stadium renovation

A few natural grass surface in B1G stadiums .... Penn St, Michigan State, Northwestern, Purdue and after 2026 season, Ohio State

NFL .... several stadiums convert from fake surface to real grass like KC Arrowhead

Not if they want to use the stadium for multiple concerts. Concerts will destroy the natural grass.
I'm going to ask a question that I truly don't know. Is there a way to protect the grass surface, like a temporary covering, that can be quickly installed and removed? Something that would minimize the damage done to natural grass?

Thanks for the input. I like the ability to quickly put it down and take it up, but more questiions.

Is it a surface people can safely walk on?

How durable is it to foot traffic?

Will it actually protect the grass field underneath?

I really like the idea of having a grass field again. And from what I have read on this website, it sounds like recruits like the idea also. Anything to help the team win while keeping the books in the black. :)

All good great questions.
Years ago I went to a concert that had a tarp down.
More of a trip hazard then helping.

Maybe the tarp was to keep the beer stains off the field

It is time for a new stadium. Stop throwing good money after bad. Now is the time to start raising money, get a design, float some concepts, and see if it can get traction. No roof, real grass, make it a celebration of college football. They built Pinnacle Arena and look at what happened to the basketball program. Make what is happening now the last renovation. It's time to see the future.
Hard to argue. Let me ask, is there another available spot on campus big enough to build another stadium? You can’t build it off campus. If not, it’s a tear down and new stadium be built in its place. Would take 3-4 years.

Do we need a $600 million dollar renovation or a totally new stadium for a team that has a 8 win ceiling?
Serious question.
Looking at the other thread about NIL and the BIG where DONU does not even show up in the top 10.
How can we project 10+ win seasons, conference championships, National Championships to keep filling the stadium and pay off the cost of renovation/new stadium if we do not have the financial firepower to build teams that can do these things?
So I say again is the financial commitment to the stadium wise long term investment, given the resources that DONU and the state of Nebraska realistically have in place in the near future?
I am afraid that big time football has passed us by due to powers outside our control and we just have to face up to those facts before we spend a lot of money we should not. :(

Really? You are going to base a private funded stadium renovation on a 6 win season? It’s not YOUR money. Why you would question donors willing to help our program is beyond comprehension. Too much hatred.

Nebraska will not build a new 1.5-2+ million dollar stadium.

Hatred?
I have loved my Huskers since going to my first game in 1964.
I am merely looking at numbers and seeing that they don't add up it todays world of high finance football.
It makes me sick but I can't see anything short of becoming one of Warren Buffett's children, that I could do about.
Since $350 million of the stadium project is bonds, football success is needed to pay those bonds back, which needs more money than apparently we have to obtain players to win big in the BIG.
Its all about the money, not hatred my friend.
