Stadium renovation

It is time for a new stadium. Stop throwing good money after bad. Now is the time to start raising money, get a design, float some concepts, and see if it can get traction. No roof, real grass, make it a celebration of college football. They built Pinnacle Arena and look at what happened to the basketball program. Make what is happening now the last renovation. It's time to see the future.

Maybe a valid take, but that ship has sailed.

No way twenty years ago or so but now somewhat legit. Like Northwestern, Baylor, etc.

Also change from Cornhuskers to Bugeaters . And change from Big Ten conference to Big12, MWC or MAC.

Anyway I give up Top25 team ratings for at least 5 years .....

BEST scenario IMO, 6W-6L (2026 season). Luckily Tennessee Vols left schedule (whew)

Changing to the Big Ten is the best thing that could have happened to Nebraska Sports. And though I have not a single metric I imagine it has been just as good for the academics, which is the reason for the existence of Good Old Nebraska U after all. It would be foolish to go backward just to benefit the football team. If Matt Rhule can't handle it, there is some young coach out there who sees the bigger picture, who has seen what Fred Hoiberg has done, what the softball program has done, even the baseball team. (Volleyball got there years ago but seems to get better every year regardless). There is a coach out there somewhere who sees Big Ten football as the best in the country, and who maybe sees what Matt doesn't, particularly an athletic department that is unafraid to break a paradym or two to resurrect the huskers as a national juggernaut. If I were the AD I would use the other sports successes to get football back on track.

Retractable pitch. Unbelievable. Is it real ??

EU soccer players demand real grass field .... softer, cool temp, nice odor, less injuries, free nasty chemicals, etc.

Cheaper method ..... Tundra with UV lights and underground heat pipes (Lambeau GB field)

I thought I heard Troy Dannen say that they decided to not go with natural grass and instead keep the artificial turf.
For now, anyway.

But I think they will come back to the issue.

Not if they want to use the stadium for multiple concerts. Concerts will destroy the natural grass.

Not mention natural grass .....

"OU Assistant Athletic Director Bryant Houk said upwards of 60,000 guests will attend Saturday’s concert"
