Spring Practice #5 (4/3/18) Post Practice Video Coach Frost & Players

From the link...
— Frost said he wants to get Will Honas talking more on defense.

“We have to get him speaking up and barking out commands and being a floor general,” Frost said.

— Frost said he sees improvement from Nebraska’s quarterback group each day, and that Nebraska is still spreading reps evenly among that group.

Mick Stoltenberg was held out of practice on Tuesday, as was running back Greg Bell. Frost said neither are serious injuries and that Nebraska has been healthy for the most part this spring. Bell said after practice that he’s been battling back spasms.

— Frost said Deontai Williams and Marquel Dismuke are two guys in the defensive back room who like to hit. He said he wants to bring the rest of the guys along with them.

This link is the same as the two above...just a different pic.

From the link...
— Nebraska running back Greg Bell has two goals for the spring. Learn the offense and leave as the unquestioned starter. Bell said he’s been very happy with how the spring has gone for him and he feels he’s put together some good practices while competing with other running backs for the open spot.

— Bell is slowed at the moment by back spasms. He missed Tuesday’s practice and said he’s not concerned, but he’s also never dealt with the injury before.

— One thing Bell said he’s had to adjust to is the tempo of practice. He said the first day set the tone and it was the most he’s ever ever moved during a practice setting. The running back said the offseason conditioning helped prepare him for the tempo, but it was still an adjustment based on the way he’s practiced in the past.

— Something Bell is hoping to show this spring is that his receiving skills are strong. Bell said he could’ve played wide receiver, and he has at other levels, but he thinks he’s got good, strong hands and believes playing space highlights his speed and quickness.
