I like hearing about the fast pace practices. Nothing about this change seems to be negative, or questionable, or head-shaking, or incomprehensibly stupid...unlike the 3 previous years.
I'm definitely RTDB guy. I was on record that the closer we were to 80/20 run/pass in Riley's year 1, the more games we'd win...I was kinda right on that one, given we were closer to the other extreme and lost a ton. I would prefer to line up with a FB and 2 tights or Maryland I and just beat the crap out of the guys on the other side.
But, I did also state back in late 2014 that I would have hired Frost to replace Bo, if just to get the Chip Kelly run-heavy version of the spread. That's the modern college offense. Tempo and speed and relentless attacking...it's the new normal and we are back on the cutting edge of the curve for the first time in 20 years. Beck had creativity, but not coherence. Frost has a bonafide system and has "it" when it comes to calling a game.
I'm all in on Frost. He'll get this done as long as we all let him.

You're talking offense. I agree with much of what you say... I am also hyped about the defense. There will definitely be some 'ouch' moments, but this defense is gonna be flying around and making things happen. A lot of good things were said about the 3-4 defense when whatshisname came to town. Then we found out that he played the 'don't touch' version of the 3-4. Sounds to me like this new defense will bring the heat on every play. Sometimes it will look like 3-4 sometimes 4-3, sometimes it will look like the 4-5 with 7 extra heat seeking missiles sneaking around. I am not necessarily the smartest defensive schemer but I can recognize when the defense has the offense playing out of rhythm.
So we are going to have a breakneck offense and bone crushing defense. If nothing else there will be some excitement. Hopefully more good things than bad will happen. GBR
When it comes to D I would rather get beat by being overly aggressive than passive. Aggressive play can make the best QB throw too soon. or make the OL jump. Passive play is just waiting to get beat. The old phrase about the prevent D preventing you from winning is more true than not.
I just want to see our secondary get an interception or two. They seemed few and far between last year.

when you apply pressure and QBs throw early. INTs happen more frequently.
i want to see aggressive tackling. I don't think I saw one hit by our defense last year where I thought "man, he just drilled that guy".

So true. It's amazing how much better your secondary will play when the opposing QB doesn't feel comfortable.
