The problem hasn’t even begun. What people don’t realize is you can’t just let the football or basketball players make money. You can’t even let the starting quarterback make more money than the third string linebacker. Everything has to be equal in government controlled institutions. The starting point guard on the woman’s team will have to be paid the same as the men’s point guard.

Because frankly, no one gives a damn. I mean, honestly, who gives a rip about women’s basketball? No one really, unless it’s one of your own or someone you know. I’m fine with equal, fairness, but remember, women’s basketball has a negative financial balance. They shouldn’t be compensated like the men in that regard. The honest truth here is, no one cares.

that’s a very easy riddle to solve. Pro sports pay their labor an amount related to the income through a collective bargaining agreement.

In college sports, there is no CBA, and in fact, it is against the rules for labor to get paid. All while the rest of it - the coaches, venues, and tickets - acts like the NFL.

That’s what the Supreme Court has to wade through. The NCAA’s sacred cow status has ended.

Which adds to the problem. As long as they choose to participate as an “institution” they are subject to title IX. It’s highly possible woman playing volleyball at a money losing institution like Kansas state can demand to be paid as much as women at Nebraska. It can also cross across from men’s programs to woman. The point guard from the woman’s team at Kansas can demand the same as the point guard from the men’s team regardless of how much is made.
It’s highly possible, without changes to title IX that for an institution to participate in sports they will be required to pay every participant the same amount of money regardless of profitability and be funded by taxpayers. Either that or drop most sports. Even then, most schools would probably have men’s football and basketball only while still having equal participation on the woman’s side with equal compensation.
 




Here is another huge problem on the horizon. Right now the NCAA has skirted the laws on equality in participation in regards to equal scholarship opportunities for men and women sports choosing to take the side of number of sports teams rather than scholarships. With football having 85 scholarships that represents more than all the other woman teams combined. It’s a matter of time before that gets challenged.

Man, what a huge problem. Common sense and changes are a must. Alabama QB, $15,000 per month. Oregon State women’s rower, $15,000 per month. Lol. Good luck with that.
