Series recommendations?

I finished YS but I wasn't all that impressed. Now that you mention Dallas (which I never watched) it does seem to remind me of what I've heard/read about it!

I really like Costner as an actor too. I just didn't think the writing was all that great. Some scenes were well done, but honestly the scenery was way better. So far, 1886 is WAY better.

I think Costner is a decent actor. The show was just so over the top with everything, just like Dallas was. I think people get into shows like that for the fantasy aspect of it.

I think I said a while back in this thread I am not a huge TV show watcher. I have a hard time sticking with shows. I am not a big binge watcher. I would rather watch a sporting event or a movie. Part of the problem is my wife is really not into watching episodic shows. She thinks we watch way too much TV. I have told her we watch nearly no TV compared to some people. She doesn't believe me.

I watched all of it, but mostly because it became one of my wife's favorites. It beats a lot of the other things she liked at the time, so I was good with it.

She's said the same thing on 1883 (Both of our favorites of all three shows) and 1923.

She read somewhere that they were making another spin off, but I don't know what it is.

I'd kind of like to see some new ideas for movies and TV series. Spinoffs and remakes are kind of getting old.

The spin off is supposed to be centered on that ranch in Texas, the 6666s?, I think that’s where Matthew McConaughey is supposed to take over for Costner

1883 easily the best of the 3 IMO. Toss up between YS and 1923 for second. I don't like Harrison Ford in 1923 and things seem awkward/off somehow between the actors. The Africa stuff is pretty cool though.
 
I didn’t look back to see if it’s been listed but Dexter is really good. I‘m six seasons in and have really enjoyed this show.

I thought after the Trinity Killer it started to go down hill. Really good series overall though (except the ending).
