Nebraska hadn't had a winning record in, what, nine seasons? We get two winning seasons in a row, go to two bowl games, and the fan base is ready to quit. Unbelievable. Most toxic fan base in the nation. They want to know every single detail about every single practice, and then spend every second of the week telling the coaches what they're doing wrong. What would coaches do without incessant micromanagement?
We love Bo! Bo's fiery, like Devaney! Oops. We don't like Bo anymore. Suddenly we're all retired Sunday School teachers. We don't allow cursing. Plus, Bo swung his hat. He swung his hat! Fetch the fainting couches!
Matt Rhule wore his hat backwards. BACKWARDS! We need an internal university investigation. Of course, Adam Carriker has his hat on backwards in 65% of his videos, but that's okay, because hat logic.

I don't think I'm toxic. I don't have unrealistic expectations, and I'm not spending the offseason crapping on the team or issuing demands for my continued support. I'm a FAN. Nebraska is my ride-or-die.
I see good things in our future. We gambled on Donovan Raiola to get Dylan, hoping that Dylan's athleticism and ability to peer recruit would pay off. It didn't. Now it looks like we have the offensive line coaching we've long needed. Recruiting and coaching have improved dramatically, in my estimation. I love Teasley and Wade. I also love what the future holds with Aurich running our defense. I'm optimistic.
If you genuinely believe that publicly quitting on the team, crapping on the coaching staff, and issuing demands for your loyalty help this program in any way, you need a psychiatrist. The Nebraska fan base makes the head coaching job here an abject nightmare. Can't imagine who would want to put up with this crap.
This team has brought me unbelievable joy over the years. I believe in them. I will always be cheering for them.

Pretty lofty sentiments. Easier to live up to when you're 11-1. Should we chisel those words off of our walls? Or continue to support the team?

Let it end. It’s been the only restaurant so to speak in town. So no reason to improve customers kept coming despite bad food and service. Now they have learned to cook / entertain themselves.

All I see is that the more expensive tickets, for the premium (and later) home games, have lagged behind. That seems pretty predictable. If the AD is charged with raising funds to pay for the stadium renovation, it makes sense to try and get more revenue from the most attractive home games.
If the team has a solid start, the enthusiasm will be there. I really don't see how OSU and Indiana aren't sell outs. Those games are going to be a great atmosphere and a chance for Nebraska to have a statement game that they're ready to move up a tier in the conference.

I'm not sure the OSU or IU fans travel like NU fans. They may buy a few, but i don't think either of those fan bases are super excited to travel to Nebraska for a game. Not really a destination spot. Most of them can probably get tickets to home games just as easily.
Three responses to this Sports Illustrated article on this topic:
- The idea that a booster who buys up a bunch of tickets to keep the streak alive thereby deprives the University of money that might otherwise have gone to the stadium renovation or to NIL is ridiculous. When the tickets are bought, UNL gets the money and can use it for the stadium or whatever. It's not lost.
- Nebraska's population has grown by about 25% since the streak began (roughly 1.5 million in 1962 to 2 million today). There are plenty of butts for those seats. Yes, the stadium only held 31,000 at the beginning, but it's been up over 80,000 since 2006.
- Coach Rhule has chosen to go low-key this year, to the applause of many on this board but at the expense of generating as much of the excitement that drives ticket sales. If we come out showing strength on the field and exceeding the low expectations, the tickets will sell.
