I suspect Kenny Bell is going to see the ball allot against both Iowa and Wisconsin....Iowa as Michigan showed yesterday, is very vulnerable to the deep pass and their DBs are slow....last week it was looking slim he would reach 1,000 yards however, with the game he had vs Minnesota I think he has a fighting chance now....with 211 yards to reac a 1,000 I like his chances....

Taylor I would say is a longshot to make 1,000 on the ground...then again he is in pretty good health and we are 9-2...so I'll take that..:)

The sacks really hurt a QBs chances of rushing for 1,000. Martinez actually has just over 1,000 yards gained for the season but the sacks knock that total back quite a ways. But another 200 yard game would just about do it for him.

I would love to see Kenny Bell get to 1,000. I think that would be a interesting recruiting tool as well. Having a 1,000 yard rusher and a 1,000 yard receiver. Exhibit A that we have a diverse offense. As you stated, Iowa could be just the tonic for Kenny Bell's chances.

Oh I know and would have been over 1,000 the past two seasons too....yeah against Iowa that could happen....their D blows...

Yeah that would be a real selling point on the recruiting trail if Kenny makes it to 1,000.....along with Ameer and Taylor....

Some thoughts and statistical breakdowns:

We have now run 47 more plays than our opponents. Time of possession advantage is 1:46.

The 3rd down conversion stat really improved after the Minnesota game. Holding an opponent to 1 for 13 will do that.

Compton closing in on 100 tackles. He needs just 7 more tackles. He is averaging 8.45 tackles per game.

Stafford with a reasonable chance at 100. He needs to average 8 tackles a game (assuming CCG). He is averaging 7.63 tackles per game.

We have 20 guys with 10 or more tackles so far.

We have 5 receivers with 20 or more catches.

Kenny Bell needs to average 70.33 yards a game (assuming CCG) to become the first Husker receiver ever to reach 1,000. He is averaging 71.7 yards per game so he is on pace.

Taylor Martinez needs to average 69.33 yards rushing a game (assuming CCG) to reach 1,000 yards rushing for the season. He is averaging exactly 72 yards per game so he is on pace.

Amazing that Bell with 44 receptions is averaging almost 18 yards a catch.....and Burkhead with 8.6 a carry.

Regarding Compton, he looks to me like he took some weight off. Anyone else notice that? Appears to be a step faster, maybe he is just playing faster.

I hadn't notice anything regarding his weight, but you could be right. I thought he played faster in the second half of last year as well. That occured just about the time of the off-week when it was reported that the staff began to adjust the conditioning goals for the team.
