In the past 2 games, against Minnesota and Iowa, our rushing offense hasn't done much.333 yards on 100 carries (3.3 YPC). Again, this was against Iowa and Minnesota. Is this something to be concerned about with a game against the Badgers?

Not too concerned regarding Iowa. The conditions were miserable, and Iowa defense played quite spirited. Their defense stunted well.
(btw, where was Cross?)

A little concerned regarding MN. Although we attacked their weakness (i.e. pass defense), I was surprised we didn't have a little more success running the ball against them.

Not too concerned about our running game against wisky. Just concerned about turnovers and dumb penalties.

Hoping that Rex's return helps too. The O-line may get more of a charge, the 1-2 punch of Rex/Ameer will provide a nice change of pace in our attack.

The entire stadium knew we were running all day long yesterday. In a domed stadium, the mix of run/pass will also loosen the run up a bit, hopefully for some breakout runs.

Many of you listen to USC in Omaha here during the morning. DB and I have talked a couple times in passing about this, and he mentions it on his show, but looking at "stats in a vacuum". From a pure stat stand point, yes, this is alarming. But if you dig deeper, it is not concerning at all....

Against Minnesota, the 2 safeties were coming down to help stop the run. Which makes sense, going in to that game we were a top 10 rushing offense, and their thought was to stop the run, make Taylor beat us with his arm, which he clearly did as we raced out to a 30 something to zero lead before taking the foot off the gas. Football 101 says that if you keep the 2 safeties back in pass coverage, you run. If they start to creep in the box, you pass. We are extremely fortunate that we are more than capable on the ground and through the air.

Now you have the Iowa game. If you look at our rushing stats, again, not so great. But you have to remember, for 2 quarters for each team during that game, the pass plays was not existent, and again the safeties could creep down and help with the run, or you could even put in an extra LB because out routes, deep comebacks, fades, etc. were just not in play against the wind. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions outside, we had to run, thus our poor rushing performance again.

Being in a dome next week will be a huge benefit to us....Wisconsin wants this game outdoors. If our center can get up to speed on the correct calls, we will score 5 TDs minimum...

You nailed it on both games...
