Beloved Brewers broadcaster Uecker dies at 90

Longtime Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker has died at the age of 90, the team announced Thursday.

I had the good fortune to meet Bob several years ago. Here's the back story. When I was the athletic trainer at Cal State, Dominguez Hills one my athletic training students was a guy named John Adam. I made a recommendation for him to be the trainer for the Brewers AA farm club before he became a student with the promise that he would enroll in my program and eventually get certified. He did that and within two years of graduating he became the head trainer for the Brewers for over 20 years.

I have an autographed baseball signed by most of the 1987 team and this picture that Bob signed for me stating "Dave, your in the front row now!" One of my cherished memorabilia that I would grab if the house was on fire.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is a real place? I only had heard of it when Charlie Goodson of Anger Management (tv, not the movie) said he got his degree from there.

*I don’t watch that kind of trash tv. I just happened to hear that channel surfing ; )
