Rhule reportedly turned us down. Update: Well Maybe Not

More from Mitch Sherman. If there's no deal with Rhule by Friday, what's the snag? Three possibilities:

1) Money. (But Mitch doesn't think Trev will be miserly with this.)
2) Rhule simply not interested. (His Carolina buyout requires him to actively look for employment ... Going through the motions?)
3) Alberts shooting for someone higher on his list. (Sherman skeptical, thinks Fickell and Klieman not attainable. Sees Doeren, O'Brien and Monken as lower in the pecking order.)

Can Rhule recruit? Some think not.
Not much of an article. Just basically says Rhule bragged about how easy it was to recruit in Texas and the author pointing out the ranking of 29 for recruiting class. We had better recruit rankings and were 3-9 last year and may meet that again tomorrow.

And others had a different take on his recruiting back when he was actually doing college recruiting:

no shortage of articles and podcasts on Matt Ruhle data centric recruiting on the web.

Ruhle making a statement about how nice it was to be located in TX where there's a ton of great talent and where recruiting just happens to be strong and also more convenient . . . is a far cry from saying he can't (or doesn't like) recruiting. Lots of coaches appreciate being in TX for that reason.

Amazing the axes that people are already starting to grind when he's not even been named yet. He's also said that he loves working with players and is eager to get back into it.

That is how Oliver rolls. Turns molehills into mountains for clicks.
