100%. Some of these GM’s in baseball can’t fix your swing, but they will run analytics and construct the optimal roster with data.
I'm not going to give my money to some kid who won't take advantage of his scholarship and who will bolt next year. I want to see more rules about the penalties for leaving, particularly when they are getting scholarships (and most college students dont). If they leave early with several million dollars they should be contractually forced to pay the scholarship money back, maybe even toward a non athletic scholarship fund.

Is what true? That someone created a rumor that the program ran out of money? Yes, someone created a rumor.
Is the rumor true? Don’t know. It’s just a rumor posted on a website. No actual citation to an objective source to confirm or deny it.
And the source is not exactly a definitive one. If he can think of some negative spin on the day, he will post it, true or not.

The AI quotes about CharMar Brown are from before Rhule's extension and increased budget. We still don't know the details of that, and my personal belief is that people have put too much emphasis on his comment "we have enough to go get whoever we want".
I read that as, "If we'd had this much last year, we'd have closed on Brown." But they still have a team budget (every team does). This particular season, my sense is that RB for Nebraska was not viewed as a high need position. We'll see, but I think they like their room there. Its a little puzzling why we didn't see more from back-ups if that was the case, but it was hard to argue with EJ's production.
We are at the point where we need the best talent evaluation and general manager to make a big move in the conference. I wonder how excited people where for Indiana's portal class last year. We need the RIGHT guys, at the right positions. I'm pretty excited to see what a new OL coach looks like, and the new DC.

True or false: MeanFarmer posts thread titles that demean our program, then comments on them to bring them up to the top, over and over again. Making us look bad to recruits. Is that what a fan of the program would do? This is a last-year thread that doesn't apply today yet keeps being resurrected. Why? Can we just let it wither away?
So an unnamed journalist may have said something but we’re not sure. That, my friend, seems like textbook definition of what a rumor is.
Rhule has insinuated we didn’t have financial resources to land a RB last year, but I don’t think there’s ever been any concrete evidence that we ‘ran out of cash’.
