What about a better, improved and well coached offensive line?Hammer meet nail.
100% agree that this is the key issue facing the DONU offense in 2026.
In the run heavy, physical BIG, a high quality RB is essential to:
-controlling the clock.
-finishing in the 4th quarter.
-Providing balance to keep d-line from teeing off on QB1.
Unless Ives is that back (not sure why he seems deep in the dog house) we don't have such a player on our roster.
Lots of what if’s there, but you could be right. Sometimes, all a person needs is an opportunity. Maybe one, or more of the backs will shine? Certainly, they are going to get their opportunity. I’m certainly not gonna predict doom and gloom for them. Haven’t really seen enough of any of them to offer as much. What about a better, improved and well coached offensive line?
What if our offensive line fills some of that talent drop-off at RB?
What if an RPO style offense adds greater diversity in the run game?
What if, God-forbid, that our RB is better and more adept at filling the perceived drop-off? What if our coaches know better?
No one, including the articles writer, could have predicted EJs accession last season. Maybe our coaches see something others do not?
Given the price tags of what RBs were going for in the portal, I guess I'd like to know what RB would be worth the cost they were asking for? None of the possible options that were reported seem to be an upgrade over what is currently on the roster.
I mean I guess if all those things happen we’ll be in good shape, but I think the general point of the article is there’s reasons to think all those things might not happen. What about a better, improved and well coached offensive line?

I dont believe that for a second.I mean I guess if all those things happen we’ll be in good shape, but I think the general point of the article is there’s reasons to think all those things might not happen.
I’ll say for me I was a little surprised we didn’t even seemingly attempt to go after a RB in the portal. I hope the coaches are right and our RBs have a great season.

Hold on a minute...I dont believe that for a second.
Who was in the portal?
What was their price?
Could we afford it?
Were they better than what we currently have?
Honestly I just think our OLine needs to be better …. If it is … and I think it will be then whoever is toting the rock will be successful.I mean I guess if all those things happen we’ll be in good shape, but I think the general point of the article is there’s reasons to think all those things might not happen.
