RB Marvin Scott III is N

I so love this commitment for Nebraska ... as outstanding as the Morrison commitment was last week, Scott was/is my favorite of the 2 and I look forward to seeing him in the Scarlet and Cream.

Agree my favorite too. Perfect fit for the B1G: bigger back, tough runner but has has that speed to break it if he gets loose.

I'm planning on going to see him play sometime this year. Not sure if this is the best game this weekend as the opponent isn't really going to challenge him. They play some decent teams down the road. October 18th his team plays at Seminole high school in Orlando. They are ranked #18th in the state at the highest level. That's about as good as it gets for competition, and that team's defense is unreal. Lots of D-1 talent there. If Scott performs there it will say quite a bit.
But no game bigger than November 1st. Against Oviedo. That game will include him, and Kenote Coffie, who has over 900 yard in 3 games, including a 415 yard performance last week. That game will have a few college coaches at it, maybe even some big names. I think Scott could put on quite a show based on the hype it will generate around here.

Spruce creek runs an interesting spread option. They really like to get Scott in really quick hits against the LOS, which results in big plays right up the middle. It's like only having a fullback in the backfield with the QB, and just handing it straight up the gut. He has a quick first step. It's not like he's getting a lot of 5 yards back to get momentum.

For the record we are doing well to get Scott. He has a lot of options here. He's listed locally as the 8th best RB recruit in the state. That's high praise. That's in the company of Demarckus Bowman 5*, going to clemson, Don Cheney 4* Miami, Jaylon Knighton 4* FSU, Lawrence Taofili 4* FSU, Caziah Holmes 4* Penn State, Keyvonne Lee 4* PSU, Eric Wilson 3* SEC or Big10 bound

The big time RB's in Florida are headed to Clemson, Miami, FSU Penn State and Nebraska. Not bad company. When Frost can out-recruit UCF in it's own backyard, that's amazing right now.

The young man reminds me of Earl Campbell in his Texas years, he’s incredibly strong it’s going to be rough to bring him down. This staff is recruiting some real studs.

"Marvin Scott III, who comes to Nebraska after enjoying one of the most prolific prep careers in Florida history. Scott was a five-year varsity starter (yes, you read that right). He first made the varsity team as an eight grader at Class 2A Warner Christian Academy. Three years and 4,779 rushing yards later, Scott decided to transfer to Spruce Creek and compete in Florida’s largest class (8A) for his final two seasons. He would go on to rush for 1,226 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior, earning third-team all-state. Scott followed that up with 1,477 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior, on his way to being named the offensive player of the year by the Daytona Beach News-Journal. He finished his illustrious high school career with 7,482 rushing yards and 80 total touchdowns. According to FloridaPrepRecords.com, Scott’s rushing yardage ranks sixth in Florida high school history.

Scott is a tremendous all-around athlete. Last February at The Opening Regional in Orlando, he was named one of the top five offensive players in attendance. At the event, the 5-foot-9, 200-pound Scott ran a 4.54 in the 40-yard dash, posted 4.38 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle and recorded a 36.9-inch vertical jump.

Along with being an exceptional high school running back, last spring Scott won a state weightlifting championship in the 199-pound division by bench pressing 405 pounds and completing a clean-and-jerk of 295 pounds. His 405-pound bench was the best mark of anyone in his weight class (or below) and the eighth-best mark overall in a field of more than 300 competitors. According to Scott, heading into his senior year, he was benching 415 pounds and his max clean was 330. He can also do 300 pushups in one setting. It’s no surprise he reportedly loved the strength and conditioning presentation Zach Duval gave during his official visit."
