Watching Cowboys-Niners tonight and didn’t realize that Mike Zimmer is DC for Cowboys now. Reminded me that when Callahan was hired back in 2004 (?), they offered Zimmer first (or before). Not sure how many offers were made during that particularly ******** era. The late Tony Sparano would have followed Zimmer to Lincoln off Parcell’s staff as DC. Anyway, some random trivia if you’re interested. Nice to see Zimmer still doing his thing. Incredible staff btw in Dallas then. A young Sean Payton. The receivers coach (can’t remember name) became a HC. Some other solid dudes too.

Yeah I remember Zimmerman being offered.

He’s getting trashed right now for how bad the Cowboys are defensively. They can’t stop the run.

I think he would’ve been a great coach. He was Bo Pelini on steroids from a scheme, development and style perspective. Without the attitude. He would’ve been 46 at the time.

Dan Campbell was on that staff.

Agree. Perfect storm of coaching talent on that team. Todd Haley was the guy I couldn’t remember. Todd Bowles was also in the staff. Parcells had quite the tree.

I'm not so sure about that.

Zimmer has/had a ton of attitude. He wasn't famous for losing his S on the sidelines but Zimmer is a notoriously passionate/aggressive coach. Most defensive guys are.
Yeah so does Rhule.
There is a difference between being passionate and being a douche.

I want my head coach to be passionate. Nothing wrong with that.
