Walters was the hot up and coming DC before Purdue hired him, but he despises Nebraska at a level that would likely prevent him from even having that conversation.

He’ll get offers, so I don’t see desperation as an outcome.

Darn, I liked the guy (easy win) I'm guessing the other team from IN didn't help his cause. Agree that he was a better DC. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Definitely was. He has a $9M buyout and will probably sit out to see his options.

However, Cory Patterson would be an interesting prospect if we are looking for a new RB or WR coach. Good recruiter too.

Also, if Holgerson sticks around, don't forget about Graham Harrell. He may be damaged as a OC and may be primed to redeem himself as a position coach. It Thomas staying or would DH bring in someone that has run his offense before to coach QB's?

Well, MiniDisk said Ryan Walters is a Colorado guy with an elipsis as if to signify that might be a disqualifier for him being a DC at NU. But your most successful DC in program history was also a CU alum and that wasn't a disqualifier for him.
