I happened across this video. I had long forgotten about this game. OU looked invincible and had just smoked the Huskers. Many years of Sooner Magic even when we had played well. Our last victory over them was in 1971. The big upset in Lincoln was a year away. A dismal ending to the season in Norman (7-38 loss). Norman in those years was always a whoopin' while magic bit us in Lincoln. We eked out a Liberty Bowl win over UNC.
OU was so favored the game was taken off the Vegas betting lines. Lou kicked his best player off the team for rules violations and suspended several other top players.... We all tuned in for a whooping... We got one, but not by whom we expected... [Edited as a few thoughts didn't get in original]
But that is why they play the game...
I posted it here because I found no Lou memorial threads on any football forum. I involves Oklahoma in the Sooner Magic era. I recognize that the presenter has done work on the Huskers (I think he is a Husker IIRC). And looking at the thread titles in this forum, we could use some actual football. So mods, if you don't want it here you can move it.
