The QB hurry/pressure stats are typically higher for a right tackle as the QB usually sees the pressure and moves away from it. Pressures from the left side typically result in a sack.
Look at the numbers. He was the 104th ranked tackle by grades. There are 134 teams, so he was the 104th ranked tackle out of roughly 268 tackles. Not elite at all, and no one is accusing him of that. But better than the average collegiate offensive tackle, by the numbers.
I am thinking the kid from Bama is a good pickup. He has potential and people are saying he isn't very good before he even gets a shot here

I think he’s a good pickup, too. He is more athletic than Benhart and has a higher ceiling. But I disagree with you about Benhart. He’s played pretty well this year and was our best and most consistent offensive lineman all year.
You aren’t understanding the numbers. 103 tackles ranked better, and yes, that is one reason why we struggled to have a winning season and that it’s our first winning season since 2016. We need to find and develop better players.

If you are going to bring in a transfer portal player, especially one that has struggled at times, i'm cool with it being a former 5 star recruit. The kid should have some untapped potential, let's see if Campbell and Raiola can help get the best out of him.
Also, while I love DR, he's still a frosh, has to learn some things to make everyone around him better, including RTs
