Pre-Fall Camp Husker News

For the beginning of the season, I like the RB by committee. Go with the hot hand in practice to start the season. Give plenty of time to the next 2 or 3 players, just to get some experience. Injuries happen, and were going to need the backups. Make sure they have some real game experience this season, before an injury happens.

Same goes for the QB room.

Are you advocating for a QB by committee approach? Interesting.

Byrne should be #1
Devaney #2
Dannen & Alberts should be #3 and #4

Eichorst & Pederson should be with Perlman--not on the list!
I agree with your top 4 … I think Dannen is or will be slightly ahead of Alberts. Not so sure about Devaney but certainly was a long time ago.

This is the second time I am typing in a reply. I have no idea what happened to the first post.

I am happy to clear up any confusion.

I should have said "Except for the first sentence, same goes for the QB room".

For the first 3 games, depending on the game situation, I would like to see QB #2 play during the second series of the second quarter. This gives QB #1 a chance to see the defense from a different point of view. And QB #2 gets some real game experience for the season.

I would start QB #1 in the second half. I would like to see both QB #2 and QB #3 get some time in late in the third and fourth quarters, just to get some game experience in case there is an injury to QB #1.

All of these decisions have to be made during the games, depending on the situation at that time. Even though I think this is a good idea, Matt and Dana have not asked me to be available to make that decision during game time. ;)

The dreaded site refresh.

Is it just an AI thing to spam the world with these stupid ranked lists on everything? You at least need to define what criteria you are ranking them by. Best hair?

Putting Moos above Alberts is certainly a take. Alberts’ departure is skewing the quality of what he did accomplish. Moos failed to provide oversight and mentorship that Frost needed.

Alberts needed to evolve on NIL. That was his weakest issue. But otherwise right up until his departure he was among the best we’ve had.

Devaney (stupid autocorrect )probably had the easiest tenure.

We’ve had a couple terrible tenures.

Oh, I dunno. I think it was quite tumultuous. Oh, that was MULvaney. Never mind.
