Many smaller schools have stopped recruiting HS athletes in many sports. Just put the money and effort into the portal and grab players with a resume at the college level. Why should they recruit a HS player that they develop into a real player just to watch them leave? Instead, study film and portal of the division lower than you and go get guys that can help you win the next year. It is becoming very prevalent in non-football/basketball.Future recruiting class getting my hopes up again. Probably foolish, since recruits often don't pan out, especially in the era of NIL transfers. Hope we can do well enough on the field to keep recruiting momentum going.
