I just saw that he was at today’s press conference. If there are issues I highly doubt he would be one of the two players at the press conference going into the Big 10 conf tourney. I found this typing in Nebraska Bssketball where you can pull up the interview. They came on after Fred’s part.

Frager is a CANCER!!!!! REEEEEEE!

Frager: Fred addressed it yesterday in his presser. Frager missed a couple of defensive rotations that led to Iowa 3s. Loenser coached him hard. Frager handled it poorly, immaturely, and emotionally. Berke worked at getting him through it. Everyone has moved on, and ultimately it's a nothing-burger.
Thank you for posting and clarifying this as the majority of us, myself included were not aware of this. Loenser is a very intense coach who coaches hard and at times very hard. It is good for the team and the program that him and Fred have different personalities and different styles of coaching.

I was going to actually start a thread on Loenser as he is a big reason this team has had so much success this year and he deserves a lot of the credit and just as much as Hoiberg. I had my doubts last year with how the regular season ended but this year he is a big reason for their success. If I am not mistaken, he is basically the equivalent of the defensive coordinator and handles all of the defense.

Not condoning Frager's behavior, nor any behavior like that but not all respond to that style of coaching especially present day.

Also, have to mention Berke stepping in and to help Frager process what Loenser was trying to get through to him. The chemistry with this team has been second to none.

The team defense Loenser teaches, and teaches well, is elite, imo

Don't create an issue that isn't there.
That's what we do, innit?

Well, that coaching did help him get some season ending hardware:

Braden Frager: All-Freshman, Sixth Man of the Year

Lincoln Southwest alum Braden Frager was in line to crack the rotation before the start of the 2025-26 season, but few expected him to turn into what he has become. In his second year of college, but first year on the floor, the wing has turned himself into the first Nebraska basketball player to win the Big Ten's Sixth Man of the Year award.

He also earned All-Freshman recognition after averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 assists, and 0.9 rebounds per game, while serving as X-factor for the Big Red all year.

Here's who made the All-Freshman Team with Braden Frager:

  • David Mirkovic, Illinois
  • Keaton Wagler, Illinois
  • Trey McKenney, Michigan
  • Hannes Steinbach, Washington
