Husker Wrestling: Nebraska Led By Young Crop of Contenders This Week at Senior US Open

"Outside of Green, the six other Huskers entered at the Senior level have all expired their eligibility in the last three years or still have college eligibility left. "

The 2026 US Open goes down April 22-26 in Las Vegas.

Senior US Open Entries​

57 kg: 3-seed Liam Cronin​

57KG: Unseeded Vincent Robinson​

65 kg - #5 Brock Hardy, Nebraska

70 kg: 5-seed Ridge Lovett​

70 kg - #10 Chance Lamer, Nebraska

74 kg: 5-seed James Green​

74 KG: 6-seed Peyton Robb​

Robb will compete at 74 kg in freestyle after wrestling at 72 kg in Greco. Robb is seeded fourth in Greco and sixth in freestyle.

Nebraska not only had the most former wrestlers of any college in the United States competing at the Pan American Championships, they all found a way to the medal stand.
Represting Team USA, Ridge Lovett and Liam Cronin both won gold medals, while Caleb Smith and Mikey Labriola both won silver — both representing Puerto Rico."
In addition to those four at the Senior level, Nebraska also has LJ Araujo set to represent Brazil at the U20 World Championships and Omar Ayoub already qualified for U20 Worlds for Puerto Rico."

A former U20 World medalist, Camden McDanel is favored to make his first U23 World Team at 97 kg this weekend

"The Huskers have former U20 World bronze-medalist Camden McDanel moving up to the U23 division, while sophomore Ethan DeLeon will be competing in U23 as well. Nebraska’s top 2027 commit — Mac Crosson out of Iowa — will be competing at 74 kg in both the U20 and U23 divisions.
The U20 division will take place on Friday, while U23s will be Saturday and Sunday in Geneva, Ohio."
