But they would surely miss spring ball, Shirley. There will surely be another round of portal mania after spring ball. NU will get another shot at snagging some OL.

For us older guys did you ever think you would see the day that Nebraska, Michigan and others would be fighting to sign a player from New Mexico State? That's not a knock it's just that NMSU has historically been a bottom dweller that teams would play early in the year and beat 75-0 or so.
But as we have seen there are good players everywhere these days and with most games being on TV these schools and players are benefitting also

Gottula is less if healthy more how good. The thing to remember about Pete is he doesn't plan to enroll until after this semester. There is no advantage to getting him as opposed to others who may enter the Spring portal. I think if Corcoran were healthy and in the portal he would be pursued by everybody with the amount of P4 experience he has. I know Prochaszka has had trouble staying healthy but I wouldn't give up on him either. Finally, as others have said, I think a healthy Gottula deserves the first shot at that tackle job anyway. Having said all that, I realize I just said "if healthy" three times and if they have the money, it would be great to get another lineman but I think if the injuries heal we can be better than last year with what we have right now.
I wonder if Gottula is a candidate to move inside to guard if Evans switches to Center.Gottula is less if healthy more how good.
In the portal area, if not given a chance to do this at NU or anywhere actually, they will leave for someplace where they will be given the chance. Plus, IF those talented players are not on the field this year because a team brings in transfers to play over them, next year everyone will be having the same conversation..."we don't have anyone who has experience".We will be incredibly thin on the O-line considering the high propensity of injury for such a critical group. I know the coaches pulled out all of the stops working to shore this position. I doubt if they are done working this position, but options are not abundant. Young men with potential already in the pipeline here will need to step up a bit earlier in their careers than is optimal.
Follow him to our O-Line.Followed him to where?
jeebus, I don't get this stuff.
