Poll: Is Haarberg's versatility a hidden advantage for Huskers?

Is Haarberg's versatility a hidden advantage for the Huskers? Depends on what you mean by "versatility" and "advantage".

Is it a good thing that he is athletic enough that he could possibly be successful in a position other than QB? Certainly! It is nice that he has skills that might make him a valuable asset to us in a position other than what he was initially recruited as.

Is it an advantage that we have someone we might be able to play at a different position that you can also use as a QB? Not really. How often are you going to run trick plays with a TE throwing the football where it becomes an actual "advantage" for us? Sure, it was nice having some gadget plays this season where you could throw HH onto the field, but I wouldn't say it provided a significant advantage. Some of those plays worked, others didn't.

He’s athletic, big, fast and tough. He’s dedicated enough to the team cause to play on special teams even when he’s the backup QB. It’s not a “hidden” advantage to have him on the field but it is an advantage to have athletes of his caliber on the field.

I like HH moving to TE. But if Haarberg moves to Tight End in the spring and Danny K is gone, who is the backup QB next season? Does Gramstad have another year of eligibility? I can’t see us getting anyone in the portal, because who wants to come sit on the bench behind Dylan Raiola?

It's always an Advantage to get your best Athletes on to the field in a position where they can make a contribution

I would assume Haarberg would be a matchup nightmare for a lot of linebackers. He is big, fast and physical.

He's athletic and capable at multiple positions but is kind of the equivalent of a utility infielder who isn't better than the everyday player at any single position.

I’m super happy for a Nebraska kid that’s stuck it out regardless of how tough things got. We know he’ll give 100% at the TE position and I’ll bet he will be good. I think it’s an excellent move by the coaching staff and perhaps even a road for him to play on Sunday’s. He’s very difficult to bring down in space and without question he’s plenty fast for a TE. Congratulations HH and GBR

Zach Miller From Wahoo Neumann was a running QB at UNO and a great athlete who moved to TE in the pro's and had a good six career in the NFL until a horrible Injury ended his career.

Miller was 6'5 245 in the NFL

HH is 6'5 225 still in College with time to bulk up and keep his speed
