The scheduling for the first round of the VBall tournament is really awkward.
Just under a third of the bracket is underway and five of eight regions are imbalanced in terms of schedule. For example, we will probably know if Nebraska is moving on to the Sweet 16 before the conclusion of the first round game on the other side of the bracket between Santa Clara and Hawaii. Washington and Central Arkansas may not even start until the Huskers have concluded their match and many Huskers that go to bed before midnight will not even know who they are playing until they wake up Sunday morning -- two days after their match. This also gives five teams 2 extra days of rest against their sweet sixteen opponents. Strange.
