Players Staying/Going for 2026-27 season

If Amy looks for a guard from the portal, UVA (IMO stupidly) fired their HC even though they beat ASU, Georgia and Iowa in the tournament and got to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2000. G Kymora Johnson’s in the portal. She scored 24 pts., including 3-9 from three, 6 Assists 6 Rebounds and 3 Steals in the game against Nebraska. She finished the season #2 in PPG and #1 in APG in the ACC

I saw her play the two games in Iowa City (vs. Georgia, vs. Iowa). She is very good. But, I don't think the top guard in the portal is going to choose Nebraska over what will be a multitude of offers from blue bloods of women's' college hoops.

Crooks is Oklahoma bound.

Not surprised. They have to replace Beers. I understand, and appreciate, Amy's emphasis on fit and culture. When her team ends a huddle with "Family!" they really mean it. But IMO there's gotta be a way for Nebraska to maintain that culture while also persuing higly ranked transfers that may only be in Lincoln a year. Also, there's gotta be a way for Amy to at least have $ equal to a program like OU.

Hailey Weaver and Alanna Neale are in the portal.

I didn't think Weaver coming back was even a possibilty. She's trying to get one more year in college. Neale, IMO that is sad. Now I wonder if there was an issue between her and the coaches, or maybe she just learned that she'd prefer to go somewhere closer to home. We'll probably never know.
